Monday 27th to Friday 31st March 2017
Monday we did a huge shop at Greens. The weather continues perfect and I did a long walk – in flip flops – all around St Paul’s Bay. For dinner Sam had a baked sea bream and I had salmon with Indian spices and honey.
Tuesday Paul called and installed the new air conditioner in our office. It was another scorcher so after lunch I hiked across the cliffs below Golden Bay. For dinner we had roasted chicken, sweet potatoes and sweet corn
Wednesday we went to Sliema for a walk and some shopping. For dinner I made a vegetable and Puy lentil soup. It was delicious as always and is one of my firm favourites.
Thursday Sam went to art class. I got beef marinating for Saturday’s dinner. It was another cracking day so I went for a long hike. In the evening we went to O’Reilly’s for a drink. For some reason we were the only people there.
We went to HOS for dinner. It was a bit busier than normal when we first arrived but after that it got packed out. It turns out they had some sort of offer on. The problem is they couldn’t cope. Our papadums were good as always, but the lamb chops were so chewy I couldn’t eat them, the tandoori mixed grill was dried out and burnt and the biryani was almost cold. They offered to replace the food but given everyone was waiting ages to be served we decided to call it a day and they waived the bill, not even charging for the wine.
Friday was a public holiday, Freedom Day, to celebrate freedom from the Brits! Nevertheless we did some work and I did a long hike in the warm sunshine. Sam’s trying a different diet which doesn’t include pizza! So, I had pizza and she had a tuna, sweetcorn and spinach salad.
