Monday 5th to Sunday 11th September 2016
Monday we both felt a bit under the weather but fine by the evening. Not sure what that was about. Guess what we saw today? Clouds! We are forecast to see a few of them this week and we may even get a shower or two. I made a vegetable soup for lunch packed full of green beans. For dinner we had fish fingers and curly fries.
Tuesday I made rice pudding for the first time in my life. It was okay but not great and I know what to do better next time. For dinner Sam cooked roast chicken with sweet potatoes.
Wednesday I took a short break from work to go to Xemxija Café for a cappuccino and a slice of cheesecake. For dinner I made a beef casserole in our slow cooker which was yummy albeit a bit fruity thanks to using a cheap red wine!
Thursday we had a gentle breeze and quite a lot of broken clouds around so I got out for a walk after lunch without succumbing to the heat and humidity. For dinner we had left over beef casserole.
Friday morning we wandered over to Miracles for brunch; a bruschetta for Sam and a cheese toasty for me. In the evening we went to Bla Bla for sangria then went to HOS for good and inexpensive Indian food; a biriyani for me and a lamb patia for Sam. It all tasted great but came back to haunt pretty quickly, if you get my drift!
Saturday I drove Sam to Armier Bay so she could meet Tina for a swim. For dinner I made us a beef and prune tagine which was fantastic! I think I have had my fill of beef for a while, though. We bought too much at Scotts the other day which is why we have ended up having it three times this week.
Sunday my tummy wasn’t completely better so I had to beg off a BBQ invitation from Chris and Tina. Sam still went though, and had a good time. I had a plain pizza for dinner.
